Night on Fire – Lizard Queen
This is the first that this band’s showed up on my radar, and I couldn’t be more stoked about this record. Representing the Ukraine with heavy psychedelic fuzz and a masterful (and very European) take on the desert genre.
Released September 5, 2016 – Lizard Queen is an 8 track LP that fills the air around you with thick groove and sounds that make you feel like you’re in a room full of friends and cannabis clouds (regardless of whether or not that’s actually the case).
Simple yet skillful production with just the right amount of elements for that tried and true minimal desert rock feel. This record brings on a feeling like the one you get when the bartender brings you a glass of top-shelf scotch whiskey — sure, you’ll get just as buzzed just as fast — but you’ll certainly enjoy the journey a little more than you would with the cheap stuff.
The cover pretty much says it all. This album is like dropping acid in the desert from the comfort of your own home, an experience you won’t want to miss out on. (I think that’s enough analogies for one day.. just enjoy the music!)
