Mississippi Bones – 2600 AD And Other Astonishing Tales
Mississippi Bones has been putting out a consistent quantity of hard rock records for the past couple years. 2015 gave us 2 releases, an LP entitled “Songs For The Rejects” and a 4 track EP appropriately called “The Rejects Strike Back” – and they don’t seem to be running out of creative sauce any time soon.
Brilliant heavy metal and hard rock riffs accompanied by really great lyrics sung by the whiskey-and-gasoline-soaked vocal chords of Jared Collins with occasional backing harmonies by a talented lady named Heather Collins (whom I assume is either his wife or sister – and hopefully not both… the world definitely doesn’t need another White Stripes situation), and their voices work really well together.
So if you’re in need of some really great drinking music this Labour Day weekend – look no further – this band (and of course, as always, Fuzz FM) has you covered.
“Mississippi Bones is a rare breed of band, carving out monolithic balls-out rock albums that just keep on giving. The groovy riffage draws you in, the catchy tunes get you hooked, and the lyrical shenanigans send you reeling off into cosmos and itching to hit the replay button once the ride is over. With 2600 AD, Bones hit me right in the feels once again. Brilliant work, guys. And Jared, you are already there, my man.” — Henrik Thøgersen
