Gloom Folks – Self Titled

“Gloom Folks started as three, and as the time arose to seek a fourth member, Gloom Folks did become a band of four. The tale be told, the listener behold, a tale such as this will arise to the mind.”

Released in 2013, this bluesy psych rock record appeared from the void like a gift from the gods, and while there hasn’t been a full length release since then – Gloom Folks was certainly successful in leaving their mark with this one.

Hailing from Whittier, California, the stoner rock vibes fly straight and true and fill any sized room with dense and heavy sound. Guitar tracks embellished with more reverb than Bill Gate’s bathroom, and some thundering drum/bass rhythm chemistry. Lyrical proficiency and vocals sung with that trademark California soul and passion.

If psychedelic blues is your thing, then so too is Gloom Folks – whether you know it yet or not.
